Position

We are looking for a full-time Manager, Corporate Services in respect of an exciting new opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced corporate clerk who is looking to expand their leadership and team management responsibilities. As a key member of the Administration team, you will be reporting to our Co-Director, Legal Talent, and working closely with the Section Heads of the department. In this role, you will be responsible for directly managing a team of corporate services law clerks and overseeing the legal assistants within the group. This role is central to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient legal services to our clients by combining legal expertise, project management, and innovative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the corporate services law clerks and their legal assistant support team
  • Assign and oversee work, ensuring deadlines and quality and efficiency standards are consistently met
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and training on work product and procedural matters
  • Develop and present seminars and training programs for the department
  • Prepare performance evaluations and provide feedback to foster professional growth and collaboration
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives to implement new technologies and processes that optimize workflows and enhance efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports pertaining to assignments, evaluations, and other administrative metrics
  • Develop, maintain and update policies, procedures and best practices for the department
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding and integration of corporate services members
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the team
  • Assist with billable client work and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate services-related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of provincial and federal corporate statutes, as well as with service provider corporate search portals
  • Experience with MinuteBox, as well as current virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, teamwork, time management and communication skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently, take initiative, collaborate and interact in a professional manner
  • Discretion and confidentiality are essential
  • Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
