Description
Corporate and Restructuring Practice in Toronto. They require someone with financial modelling and strong restructuring skills.
Major Responsibilities :
- Manage the corporate insolvency and restructuring practice.
- Handle BIA proceedings, including proposals to creditors and commercial bankruptcies.
- Act for stakeholders in Companies Creditor’s Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings, including as Court-appointed Monitor.
- Manage court and private appointment receiverships and conduct viability assessments.
- Provide restructuring financial and operational assistance to troubled enterprises and their stakeholders.
- Manage debt restructuring/refinancing and liquidity management.
- Oversee asset management and disposition.
- Lead turnaround management and serve as Chief Restructuring Officer when required.
- Demonstrate excellent technical insolvency, restructuring, and refinancing skills.
- Possess exceptional oral and written presentation abilities, including articulating proposals and final reports using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an insolvency practice.
- Enrolled in or willing to enroll in the Licensed Insolvency Trustee’s program.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to empathize with clients while providing professional advice and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and mentor staff, facilitating positive outcomes.
- Strong financial analytical and modelling skills.
- Detail-oriented with logical problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in corporate insolvency and restructuring is an asset.
- Professional designations such as CA, CPA are strongly preferred.
- Accounting/Finance experience required.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Exceptional client management and relationship-building skills.
- Broad financial and commercial experience within professional services or corporate environments.
- Independent worker and team player.
- Logical, methodical, and commercial approach with strong diagnostics skills.
- Strong report writing and reviewing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
