Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America, attracting approximately one million visitors annually. The AGO Collection of more than 120,000 works of art ranges from cutting-edge contemporary art to significant works by Indigenous and Canadian artists and European masterpieces.

We are currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Partnerships, to join our D evelopment team. Under the direction of the Director, Corporate Partnerships & Development Special Events the Manager, Corporate Partnerships is an experienced professional with a track record of cultivating, securing, and executing corporate partnerships of $25,000 and above. In this role, they individually oversee a portfolio of prospects and with the Director, Corporate Partnerships & Development Special Events, leads the implementation of the AGO’s corporate partnerships strategy to generate revenue for the organization. The Manager oversees the work of the corporate partnerships team to achieve annual and multi-year goals from corporate memberships through to major multi-year corporate partnerships. They create overarching cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans and manage resources to implement these plans from initial proposal development through to evaluation frameworks and reporting.

As a member of the Development team, this role contributes to realizing the AGO’s mission and our vision to lead global conversations from Toronto through extraordinary collections, exhibitions, and programs and by reflecting the people who live here.

The AGO is taking steps to build our capacity to actively work on addressing issues of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility in our galleries, programming, and workplace. The rate of pay for this position is $84,648 - $105,778 per annum.

What is this position responsible for?

  • Strategy : Develops and implements strategies and tactics to achieve the annual and multi-year goals of the corporate partnerships’ strategy in terms of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Assists the Director in setting the overall corporate partnerships strategy and develops strategic plans for properties, prospects and current partners that align with the overall direction of the division.
  • With the Director, strategizes on topics and issues to bring to the volunteer Corporate Committee (a sub-committee of the Advancement Committee of the Board) for input and an industry perspective.
  • Fundraising and Stewardship : Identifies prospects and opportunities from across the corporate sector and oversees the relationship management process including but not limited to monitoring prospects, cultivation, and solicitation activity. Independently oversees a portfolio of assigned prospects and has responsibility for achieving established revenue goals, with a focus on solicitating partnerships at $25,000 and above.
  • Provides leadership on customized proposal development for all aspects of the partnerships program. Leads and participates in all corporate identification, cultivation, and solicitation activities, and directs staff to undertake cultivation and solicitation activities as required.
  • Provides strategy, content, and oversight for all briefing notes for prospect / supporter meetings and events including those that may involve senior Volunteers and senior AGO staff.

  • Well-developed computer literacy including sponsorship / fundraising applications, spreadsheets, and CRM.
  • A passion for art; knowledge of art is an asset.
  • Experience in Development, Marketing, or Corporate Sponsorship in a complex corporate or non-profit organization.
  • University degree or equivalent education and experience
