A financial Crown corporation in Ottawa is looking for a Manager, Corporate Actuarial. The role involves leading the actuarial team, managing the development and maintenance of actuarial models, and ensuring compliance with risk management policies. Team Overview:
The Corporate Actuarial team is responsible for activities such as valuation of insurance contracts, determination of capital requirements and forecasting insurance liabilities across EDC’s insurance portfolios which primarily includes Credit Insurance and International Trade Guarantees. The Risk Quantification Team focuses on developing and continually enhancing portfolio management tools and applications for the quantifying, monitoring, managing, and reporting all financial risks (credit, insurance, market, investment, and operational).
What you will be doing:
As Manager of EDC’s Corporate Actuarial team, you will apply your leadership and actuarial skills to lead and manage development and maintenance of actuarial models used in the financial reporting of EDC’s insurance liabilities, the determination of economic capital and stress testing activities. You will drive efficiency and governance improvements in our processes and tackle complex problems with your expertise.
