Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting (6 month contract)

We’re hiring! An exciting contract opportunity is available with a well-established and highly respected Canadian mining company headquartered in Vancouver. Join the organization’s Corporate Finance team as a Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting, and make an impact by overseeing core financial functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What- the Role:

This contract position is ideal for a CPA with strong public company experience and proven leadership skills. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting will:

  • Oversee corporate accounting and budgeting for multiple legal entities.
  • Manage accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and corporate cash flow.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of junior accounting staff.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, management reporting, and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Treasury and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting for corporate legal entities.
  • Manage the full AP cycle and employee expense reporting.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the corporate function.
  • Handle intercompany transactions and calculate/record management fees.
  • Provide oversight on certain metal sales transactions.
  • Partner with Treasury on cash management and planning.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual financial statement preparation (IFRS).
  • Maintain SAP system integrity for corporate entities.
  • Support finance-related IT initiatives at both corporate and operational levels.
Who- the Candidate:

We’re looking for an experienced, professional, and detail-oriented CPA who can hit the ground running and add value immediately.

Required Qualifications:

  • CPA designation with 7+ years of experience in public accounting and/or a public company.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and public company reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring staff.
  • Advanced Excel and large ERP system experience, ideally SAP and a consolidation system.
  • Professional presence with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Mining or natural resources industry experience.
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills (not required but a bonus).
  • Ability to travel if needed (minimal, up to 10%).
How Much:

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience in the range of $62.50 - $67.30/hr (+ 4% vacation pay).

Where:

This is a full-time, onsite role based at the client’s corporate head office in Vancouver, BC, easily accessible by public transit.
