Continuous Improvement Manager - Vaughan Region, Vaughan

The Manager, Continuous Improvement (CI) ensures the ongoing enhancement of processes and procedures throughout the organization. This role collaborates closely with various business units and external partners to identify opportunities, recommend, and implement integrated solutions aligned with the company's strategic goals. Utilizing best practice methodologies, the manager provides analysis and insights related to operational strategies, including labor, inventory, and productivity efficiencies.

Using lean methodologies, the manager oversees modeling and quantifying processes, equipment, and methods to maximize efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve guest satisfaction and team member experience. Responsibilities include documenting current and future state processes through process flow mapping and developing standard operating procedures for standardization.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage the performance of continuous improvement service providers and consultants.
  • Support the discovery, development, and execution of lean process opportunities to optimize business performance.
  • Develop and recommend organization-wide plans and programs that support business objectives.
  • Assist business units in executing plans related to merchandising, shrink reduction, labor optimization, and waste reduction.
  • Investigate, model, and quantify changes to processes, equipment, and methods.
  • Optimize business tools for better efficiencies and financial benefits.
  • Ensure regular completion of benchmarks and sell-through reporting; establish KPIs and targets.
  • Develop, deliver, and improve team member training programs.
  • Support, mentor, coach, and train direct reports to maintain high productivity and nurture talent.
  • Create a highly engaged team by soliciting and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Provide support and leadership to Continuous Improvement Coaches.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Credentials:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in continuous improvement or lean principles, or equivalent.
  • University degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Business, Math/Computer Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of lean operating principles and experience in analysis, development of methods, standards, workflow design, layout, and cost control.
  • Experience in retail and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools; certification as Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and responsiveness to change, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Project management and team leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
