Job summary

MNP is seeking a Manager in Farm Management Consulting to deliver analysis, strategic guidance and action plans balancing current needs with future goals for clients in agriculture. The role leads multi-disciplinary teams, manages proposals, project plans and budgets, and develops long-term client relationships while driving transformation across farm enterprises.

You will work across private, public, not-for-profit and Indigenous sectors with a focus on strategy, planning, feasibility studies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, political science or related field.
  • 5 years of business consulting experience, ideally focused on transformation, operational improvement, and/or value creation.
  • CMC, PMP, Lean or other related certifications are assets.
  • Strong modelling (operational, financial) background.
  • Working knowledge of farm enterprises, primary producer and/or agri-business is preferred.
  • Experience in agriculture environment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in business and practice development.
  • Advanced project management skills and tactics.
  • Proven people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders and facilitation sessions.
  • Prosci Change Management or other change management certification assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on strategy and planning services across sectors.
  • Execute business planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning and financial analysis.
  • Translate customer needs into practical business solutions for long-term success.
  • Design new processes and operating models and conduct stakeholder sessions.
  • Manage engagement planning, scheduling and project financials.
  • Identify ways to deliver added value and grow client relationships.
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Develop new business opportunities and networks.
  • Consult with clients on disruption impacts and strategic transformation for the workplace of the future.
  • Review and develop high-quality deliverables including reports and presentations.
  • Maintain quality control and apply knowledge to address issues and risks.
  • Network in local business community and lead competitive proposals.
  • Mentor and coach team members and drive performance reviews.
  • Identify problems using analysis and judgement and provide meaningful solutions.
  • Organize information and facilitate meetings and sessions.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on strategy and planning services in the private, public, not-for-profit and Indigenous sectors
  • Execute business planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning, operational planning, program review, program re-designs, financial analysis and other forms of management consulting
  • Understand and translate customer needs into a practical business solution to enable long-term success
  • Design new business processes and operating models based on customer requirements and conduct user review sessions and run stakeholder agreement meetings
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure needs are met and relationships grow and develop
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and confirm key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Generate new business opportunities and develop long-term client relationships and networks
  • Consult with clients to understand the impact of disruption on the work, worker and workplace and help them define their ambition and strategy for transforming the workplace of the future.
  • Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience and judgement and provide meaningful solutions and expertise.
  • Organize and communicate information in compelling ways, including developing deliverables and facilitating meetings and working sessions
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, political science or other related field
  • 5 years of business consulting experience, ideally focused on transformation, operational improvement, and/or value creation
