Job Summary

Stewart Title seeks a Manager, Compliance and Risk to support ongoing compliance with regulations and industry frameworks. The role involves collaborating with the business, developing reports and policies, and participating in various initiatives. It is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days in-office at 200 Bay Street, Toronto.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage compliance and risk programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including OSFI & FINTRAC filings.
  • Establish and oversee internal controls and compliance monitoring systems.
  • Maintain the regulatory compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Create training programs on compliance and risk management.
  • Guide and train employees on compliance obligations.
  • Investigate breaches and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and regulatory bodies to address compliance concerns.
  • Monitor emerging regulations and industry trends.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
  • Lead compliance audits and assessments.
  • Manage the risk register review process and assist in risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and oversee FINTRAC AML compliance program.
  • Assess and improve third-party risk management compliance.
  • Develop and oversee climate risk management programs.
  • Evaluate GRC tools for efficiency and reporting, and identify automation opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in compliance, legal, finance, or related field; relevant experience required.
  • Professional certifications like CRM are assets.
  • Minimum 5 years in compliance, risk management, or related fields within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations, OSFI guidelines, and Canadian compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in risk assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Proficiency in compliance and risk management software is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications.
