Primary Objective of the Position :

The Manager of Complex Records is responsible for maintaining records of our complex component inventory, ensuring all data is accurately captured during shop events, purchasing, and aircraft import/export processes. Complex components include engines, auxiliary power units (APU), landing gear, and thrust reversers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Track and manage HTC and Life Limited Part (LLP) records.
  • Maintain direct communication with Engineering / Powerplant engineers regularly.
  • Support evaluation processes for acquiring complex parts.
  • Prepare data packages for shop visits and update records post-visit.
  • Update the maintenance system (CORE) for aircraft removal and installation of complex parts, ensuring compliance with HTC and LLP tracking.
  • Monitor and maintain records for Airworthiness Directive (AD) and Service Bulletin (SB) compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for modifications and non-OEM repairs.
  • Provide support for entry-to-service activities as needed.
  • Maintain fleet configuration reporting and distribute reports accordingly.
  • Support investigations related to quality escapes, incidents, accidents, or hazards via the Maintenance Irregularity Reporting (MIR) and Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Ensure all mandatory and regulatory tasks concerning complex parts are completed within deadlines.
  • Liaise with Engineering, MCC Planning, and Quality Assurance to resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in budgeting and resource planning.
  • Support asset allocation planning with the Senior Manager Planning.
  • Provide feedback on opportunities to streamline, optimize, and reduce costs to senior management.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental reviews and team meetings.
  • Ensure proper training for self and direct reports, keeping all current with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with SMS, safety, and security policies and standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
  • Understanding of safety issues and active support of the SMS program as per Transport Canada standards.
  • Emerging leadership skills, including coaching and team development.
  • Proficiency with computer-assisted maintenance software and aircraft tracking systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve service level agreements with customers.
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking ability and resilience under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications :
  • At least 5 years of experience in Aircraft Records Maintenance, Planning, or Engine Management.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Training from a Transport Canada-approved organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of airline operations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe software.
  • Good understanding of airline standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Line and Heavy Maintenance procedures is an asset.
  • Experience in acting roles or exposure in related areas is an asset.
