Scotiabank’s Transformation Management Office (TMO), Global Risk Management (GRM) team is seeking a Manager, Change Management to join our team. Our best-in-class Change Management team supports GRM’s Transformation Initiatives to implement effective and lasting change.

Reporting to the Director, Change Management, the Manager, Change Management, will support multiple initiatives by designing and implementing change management activities that impact stakeholders to support change activities. The role will be responsible for developing change management processes, learning materials, tools, and resources to execute, manage change, and achieve objectives.

The incumbent will work in a dynamic project environment, integrating multiple projects while adapting to evolving business priorities. They will facilitate the design and delivery of change initiatives, including defining scope, establishing communication programs, building and delivering skills-based learning, tools, and resources, and managing resistance.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  1. Understand and apply the GRM TMO Change methodology and principles to develop change approaches suitable for complex environments and stakeholder impact.
  2. Design and implement change activities, including communication plans, employee engagement initiatives, learning materials, tools, resources, and evaluation/reporting for various audiences (leadership, stakeholders, change champions, managers, employees).
  3. Assess organizational factors and stakeholder readiness, and execute plans to prepare, manage, and reinforce change.
  4. Monitor the success of change initiatives through tracking and reporting progress.
  5. Provide advice, guidance, and solutions to project teams and individuals for large and complex initiatives to ensure successful implementation and benefits realization.
  6. Design, update, and build learning materials and train-the-trainer resources as needed.
  7. Manage each transformation initiative to ensure timely delivery.
  8. Act as a subject matter expert, advising on change management practices, adult learning, and related strategies.
  9. Build collaborative relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders to align activities with strategy and support end-user adoption.
  10. Identify resistance and performance gaps, working with leadership and project teams to develop corrective actions.
  11. Support senior leadership with executive reporting and communications as required.
  12. Design and implement metrics to measure success.

Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Advanced knowledge of change management, adult learning, and business transformation.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project/program environments, including 2-3 years in transformational change management or learning and development.
  • Ability to deconstruct complexity and communicate effectively to move projects forward.
  • Experience advising project leaders and business partners on change leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute change management tactics supporting stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience at a strategic level, liaising with stakeholders to identify impacts and ensure change plans are in place.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make pragmatic decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
