Job Summary

We are looking for a Global Category Manager to support our business units and stakeholders.

The Global Category Manager leads strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management for a complex portfolio of services. The role aims to create value for stakeholders, reduce total cost of ownership, leverage negotiation strategies, and mitigate risks through contracts. The position involves developing short to medium-term category plans with stakeholder support. The role interacts with managers, directors, officers, external suppliers, and third-party partners. Experience in supplier selection, sourcing, RFx, contracting, and supplier relationship management is required.

The role includes sourcing technology products and services, including hardware, software, and cloud solutions, evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring value alignment with company needs and budgets, primarily within Global IT.

Telecom

Procurement of telecommunications services and equipment, requiring understanding of telecom technologies and market dynamics, collaborating with internal teams.

Job Responsibilities

Category Planning

  • Develop and execute 1-3 year global category strategies aligned with business needs and goals.
  • Gather input from stakeholders and analyze market trends.
  • Stay updated on market intelligence to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Implement strategies and report progress.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Prepare RFx packages, define approaches, and identify suppliers.
  • Coordinate RFx execution and ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze total cost of ownership and benchmarking data.
  • Negotiate contracts, prepare business cases, and seek senior approval.
  • Collaborate with contract specialists for implementation and track savings.

Business Partnering

  • Build relationships and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders.
  • Translate business strategies into sourcing opportunities.

Collaborate with SRM team

  • Manage contracts, identify improvement opportunities, and handle escalations.
  • Develop risk management and contingency plans.

Other Duties

  • Work safely, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate organizational values.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and support inclusive practices.

Job Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering; SCMP preferred.
  • 7+ years in global category management or strategic sourcing, with 5+ years in indirect procurement.
  • Expertise in procurement practices, contract law, and supplier management.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, and other procurement tools.
