Job Summary

The Manager, Cards Credit Strategy & Data Analytics will utilize advanced analytics to develop credit strategies aimed at growing RBC revenue and managing risk, ultimately optimizing portfolio profitability. You will also be responsible for developing an existing talented credit team within the group.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Use data mining, profitability modeling, and business intuition to inform lending decisions for card credit programs such as Line Management and Transaction Authorizations.
  • Monitor and analyze investment credit risk exposures on both short-term and long-term bases.
  • Develop complex quantitative and analytic credit risk metrics and tools to help manage, measure, and monitor credit risk.
  • Build financial models to simulate financial outcomes of strategic decisions, measure actual outcomes against expectations, and drive continuous improvement based on findings.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing integrity of credit strategies within systems like Pathfinder and TRIAD.
  • Engage with Senior Management and Group Risk Management partners to refine and execute strategies.

What do you need to succeed? Must have:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including understanding of credit risk fundamentals and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel (Pivot tables), and Python.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Python (Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn) and Tableau.
  • Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality, accurate work with the ability to multitask and shift priorities.
  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, engineering, economics, finance, computer science) demonstrating critical thinking, data analytics, and financial modeling skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with adaptive control software (e.g., TRIAD, Probe) and credit scoring technologies.
  • Effective communication in both business and technical environments.
