BMO is seeking a data and risk professional who can bridge business, analytics and technology. You’ll apply Python, SQL and Power BI to support risk data infrastructure and analytics across the organization, lead complex analyses and drive process improvements with stakeholders.

You will provide production and end-user support for the risk platform, oversee change management and system governance, and collaborate to strengthen risk reporting, controls and decision‑making.

Job Description

We're looking for a unique combination of risk and technical expertise. This role is designed for an experienced data and risk professional who can bridge business, analytics, and technology. You'll leverage your expertise in Python, SQL, Power BI, risk systems, and credit risk analytics to support critical risk infrastructure and data management processes across the organization. You'll be empowered to independently lead complex analyses, identify opportunities for process optimization, influence key stakeholders, and implement solutions that strengthen risk reporting, governance, and decision-making. Provides production and end-user support and governance for the risk technical platform and system environment that supports risk data & control structures (e.g. process controls, user access controls, data integrity controls) to enable risk processes and operations. Supports and oversees the planning, maintenance and change management for risk system strategies, process changes, system parameter changes, production schedules, and operational tasks. Oversees the management of system parameter changes. Works with stakeholders to resolve issues and provide solutions that ensure service delivery and effectiveness.

• Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including product enhancements; Initiative areas can include intake, requirements, design, development, testing, simulation, sign-offs, production and post-implementation activities.
• Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
• Represents the risk systems management function during internal/external regulatory audits and/or examinations.
• Coordinates the management of databases; ensures alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
• Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
• Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
• Guides/assists in the identification and classification of issues; recommends action plans.
• Provides input into the planning and implementation of ongoing operational programs in support of the risk systems management.
• Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
• Monitors the risk system technical infrastructure, applications and/or business transactions across the environment.
• Collaborates with Technology service providers and other stakeholders to investigate, perform root cause analysis and plan corrective actions; follows production environment support processes and guidelines.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
