Job summary

Couche-Tard is seeking a Manager, Capital allocation & Governance to join the Corporate Finance team in Laval, QC. The role focuses on Capex processes, portfolio tracking, and data-driven decision support for a diverse investment portfolio.

You will coordinate approvals, maintain data integrity, and provide insights to senior stakeholders while ensuring alignment with budgets and capitalization readiness in an international setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fixed asset/Capex project approvals and tracking.
  • Maintain Capex data including budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide visibility on portfolio performance and risks.
  • Consolidate information across fixed asset categories.
  • Prepare structured analyses for senior stakeholders.
  • Improve portfolio tracking tools and processes.
  • Ensure alignment between projects and financial setup.
  • Support quarterly forecasting and deployment tracking.

Manager, Capital allocation & Governance

Department: Corporate Finance

Location: On site, Laval, QC (4204 boulevard Industriel, H7L 0E3)

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Capital Planning & Governance, the position will be part of the Acquire to Retire team supporting the execution of enterprise-wide fixed asset investment (Capex) processes and portfolio tracking. You will play a key role in ensuring capital projects are well-structured, properly tracked, and supported by reliable data, enabling better decision-making and visibility across a diverse portfolio of investments.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate fixed asset/Capex project approval processes, including tracking submissions, decisions, and follow-ups
  • Maintain and monitor Capex project data, including budgets, forecasts, and key changes
  • Provide clear visibility on portfolio performance, risks, and upcoming decisions across fixed asset investment projects
  • Consolidate information across multiple fixed asset investment categories (e.g., technology, real estate, operations)
  • Support senior stakeholders by preparing structured analyses and insights
  • Own and improve portfolio tracking tools and processes
  • Ensure alignment between approved projects and financial setup (e.g., budgets, cost tracking, asset creation/capitalization readiness)
  • Support quarterly forecasting and deployment tracking for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business planning assumptions
What You’ll Need

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting and forecasting, preferably in environments involving Capex, fixed assets, project-based investments, or investment governance.
Knowledge and skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to structure and manage complex datasets, processes, and workflows
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
  • Interest in data, automation, and process improvement (e.g., Power BI, Copilot, workflow tools)
  • Proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities
  • Motivated by complex, cross-functional projects in an international environment
Language skills
  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
