Job Title: Manager, Business Partner, North America

Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance the Manager, Business Partner, North America is responsible in ensuring the company’s mines leverage technology to meet or exceed their business goals.This outstanding candidate will be the strategic advisor between technology and four operational sites across North America. They will maintain relationships and leverage analytics to understand, identify, quantify, and prioritize business opportunities.Through strong leadership and a deep understanding of mining and processing operations, this driven individual will collaborate with senior business leaders to develop their technology strategy, ultimately ensuring technologies support operating excellence and evolving business needs.

What you will be doing:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with senior business leaders as measured by customer satisfaction of technology services

  • Engage with business partners and analyze performance metrics to understand, identify, and prioritize business needs

  • Work with the business and technology teams to capture,translateand enrich business requirements through design thinking and/or problem-solving sessions for new and existing services

  • Build and evaluate cases that support prioritization of investment decisions, such as improvements, newprojectsand programs

  • Collaborate with and provide feedback to relevant teams to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to improve their technology strategy, and build an operations specific technology & capability roadmap that balances factors such as cost, time etc.

  • Support key planning and investment processes, such as5 yearplanning, capital allocation and annual business planning

  • Ensure you maintain a close working relationship with Teck teams critical to success, such as enterprise architecture, technology portfolio management and mining operations teams


What you must have:

  • 7+years’ within the mining industry, ideally across multiple commodities in Base Metals

  • Bachelor’s Degree or preferably an MBA, or equivalent experience in mine engineering, process engineering, customer success, sales, business development or account management

  • Strong breadth of knowledge across operational technology such as fleet management, autonomous haulage systems, condition monitoring platforms and process control, and information technology including efficiency tools, networking, ERP applications

  • Working understanding of enterprise architecture and improvement methodologies such as Lean,SixSigma, and frameworks such as ITSM is considered an asset

  • Broad understanding of the business of mining that leads to strong and clearly articulated value propositions for strategic investments

  • Significant ability to influence partners at various levels and departments across the business

  • Effective communication skills, written and oral, with an ability to translate across business and technology domains

  • Proven phenomenal teammate

  • Process focused andresultsoriented

Salary/Rate Range: $132,000 – $163,000
