Job Description

We are recruiting a Manager, Business Management for a 12-month contract opportunity within the Credit Investments (CI) Department. The Manager, reporting into the Managing Director, Business Management will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and execution for the Credit Investments department. You will lead initiatives to drive execution of strategic priorities, optimize operations, and enable leadership decision-making.

Team Summary

The Credit Investments (CI) department is responsible for all of CPP Investments' public and private credit investments globally. The CI Business Management group leads business management activities that support the operations of CI in an efficient and effective manner.

Accountabilities

Operational Excellence & Tech Enablement

  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies, and drive continuous improvement in business processes, data flows and reporting leveraging GenAI.
  • Manage cross-functional projects, including technology enhancements and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with tech teams to implement or enhance systems/tools including business requirement gathering, system testing and data governance.

Management Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare management reports/dashboards and presentation materials for senior management.
  • Support investments teams with aggregating and reporting on key metrics to monitor performance and enable effective decision making.
  • Coordinate closely with Finance and other corporate functions on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.

Business Planning & Execution

  • Support the development and execution of annual business plans, headcount forecasts, and operating budgets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business plan and support strategic decision-making with data-driven insights.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Maintain up-to-date investment process documentation and operating procedures.
  • Manage regular updates to internal and external communication materials.
  • Serve as a liaison between investment teams and corporate functions.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting or other related discipline
  • 7+ years of finance and /or investment related experience; private asset experience is a definite asset
  • Thorough understanding of the investment industry, in particular knowledge of investment workflows and data requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional projects and interacting with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive performance for teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good judgement and sense of priorities
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
