As part of the US Business Development (BD) team, this role supports the daily needs of team members in the Restructuring and Appellate practice groups, executing strategic initiatives to generate new client relationships, enhance our brand, and increase revenue.

The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, ambitious, and eager to develop a career in business development. Experience in building rapport with stakeholders, developing subject-matter expertise, and working with marketing teams is preferred.

This position offers career development opportunities within a national team at one of the world's largest law firms. The role reports to a Senior Manager for Disputes and is supported by a BD coordinator or assistant. The location can be in Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York, or San Antonio. Some overtime may be required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Managing planning and production of client initiatives to promote our Restructuring and Appellate practices, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
  2. Identifying and proposing pursuit opportunities to generate new client relationships and revenue.
  3. Analyzing and developing engagement opportunities with target clients.
  4. Coordinating with partners on thought leadership and outcomes, collaborating with PR teams as needed.
  5. Managing external communications, including newsletters, blogs, and alerts.
  6. Mentoring team members on best practices.
  7. Utilizing marketing channels to convey consistent messages about our teams and sectors.
  8. Tracking and analyzing client engagement activities and reporting ROI.
  9. Planning and implementing firm events and sponsorships.
  10. Drafting and coordinating submissions for legal directories and surveys.
  11. Managing internal training and development presentations.
  12. Developing internal communications to promote team activities.
  13. Updating intranet content related to BD initiatives.
  14. Monitoring and approving support arrangements for marketing activities.
  15. Supporting internal meetings and onboarding processes.

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications and skills:
  • 8+ years of experience, preferably in professional services; law firm experience is a plus.
  • Experience with global business development strategies and campaigns.
  • Proven success in leading marketing initiatives, especially for Restructuring and Appellate teams.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and experience management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
