Bridgewater Bank is looking for a highly driven Manager, Business Development to find, develop and nurture relationships while providing exceptional customer service to the Mortgage Broker network in their territory through promoting Bridgewater Bank’s products, services, and value proposition in support of Bridgewater Bank’s strategic objectives.
This position is a key promoter of Bridgewater Bank’s brand position in the marketplace. Along with a team of Underwriters and other Business Development Managers, this role identifies key mortgage broker relationships to work with. By being a superior customer service-oriented leader, you achieve results and display effective and innovative ways to reach your market.

This role works from a home-based office and does require significant travel within their sales territory, as well as attending meetings and conferences.

What You’ll Do
- Report to the Director, National Sales.
- Develop action plans to maintain quality relationships to achieve sales targets and effective mortgage decline and funding ratios.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication and rapport with clients.
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of products and services to promote Bridgewater Bank’s value proposition and to present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
- Communicate regularly with various teams including Underwriting and other Business Development Managers to strengthen relationships, identify areas of concern, and discuss opportunities to deliver better client experience and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide a solutions-based approach for brokers while maintaining appropriate risk management measures for the Bank and ensuring timeliness of file processing.
- Partner with Bridgewater Bank’s marketing team to provide market insight and source new initiatives to assist in developing innovation value-based solutions.
- Attend industry functions and provide feedback and information on market trends
- Build relationship with external industry partners that foster collaboration, innovation and support the opportunity to achieve sales goals.
What You’ve Done
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or related field, or comparable experience is an asset.
- You have at least 5 years of direct sales experience within the mortgage industry with a proven track record of meeting targets and delivering superior customer service.
- Proven relationship management abilities and superior sales and networking skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Exceptional knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage brokers and a strong desire to keep up with trends, economic factors, competitors, market share, changes and new products.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage insurers.
- Understanding of high ratio and conventional lending.
- You’ve proven that you know how to get high quality results and foster positive relationships with various stakeholders.
- AMP - Accredited Mortgage Professional Designation (preferred).
