Job description

We are looking for an amazing Business Development Manager - Canada to fill this role, which is based remotely in or around Vancouver, CA. This position is responsible for managing the business development (sales) of a defined list of travel agency accounts and consortia within a specified territory. The objective is to achieve sales goals for Princess Cruises in alignment with the company's business objectives and Core Values. This role will be responsible for accounts across Canada. The candidate must live in the territory, preferably in British Columbia near Vancouver. This role reports to the Director of Sales, Western U.S., and Canada.

Here is a summary of what Princess is looking for in its Business Development Manager - Canada. Is this you?

Responsibilities
  1. This incumbent will need to be a self-starter with very strong sales skills/knowledge and B to B relationship building skills.
  2. Must have experience with both virtual and live presentations for large audiences, as well as the ability to conduct product training.
  3. Excellent, time management, planning and scheduling skills are needed. Possess the ability to work with minimal oversight and meet sales and account contact goals.
  4. Must also have the ability to multitask and work simultaneously on several projects and initiatives.
  5. Challenges include finding a balance between sales priorities and your support role with accounts.
  6. Participation at trade conferences and events – often including weekends and or evenings.
  7. Participation in ship inspections as needed – usually on the weekend. These events usually start at 8 am and last until approximately 3 pm.
Requirements
  1. 3 years of business to business (B2B) sales experience.
  2. Preferred 5 years of business to business (B2B) sales experience in the travel industry.
  3. Strong in-person and virtual presentation skills.
  4. Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication.
  6. Strong consultative selling skills.
  7. Strong computer and software literacy.
  8. Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize workload.
  9. Adaptable to change.
  10. Well-travelled.
  11. Understanding of how small businesses work.
  12. Works well in a team.
  13. Willingness to take on ad-hoc projects.
  14. Self-directed and ability to work independently.
  15. Entrepreneurial spirit.
