Job summary

BDO Digital in the GTA seeks a Manager, Business Analysis / Technology Consulting to lead client engagements, gather requirements, and support solution delivery across complex technology projects.

The role requires strong client-facing skills, project delivery experience, and the ability to guide teams through the full SDLC while mentoring others and contributing to business development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, technology consulting, project delivery, or a related role.
• Experience leading business analysis activities on complex technology implementation or software development projects.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
• Experience working in both agile and waterfall delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality project documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, test plans, and training materials.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, business users, developers, QA teams, project managers, and senior leaders.
• Experience supporting QA, UAT, defect management, and test planning activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or leading business analysts, consultants, or project teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Experience supporting proposals, RFP responses, estimates, or business development activities would be considered an asset.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, ECBA/CBAP, TOGAF, Agile/Scrum, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or related credentials would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, Azure DevOps/TFS, Jira, or similar requirements, project management, and testing tools would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity

BDO Digital is looking for a Manager, Business Analysis / Technology Consulting to join our Consulting team in the GTA, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading client engagements, gathering and translating business requirements, supporting solution delivery, and managing quality assurance activities across complex technology projects.

This role is well suited for an experienced Business Analyst or Technology Consulting professional with strong client-facing skills, project delivery experience, and the ability to lead teams through the full software development lifecycle. This role is for an existing vacancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities across technology consulting engagements, including requirements planning, elicitation, documentation, validation, and stakeholder sign-off.
• Work closely with clients and internal project teams to understand business needs, define current and future state processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Prepare and contribute to key project artifacts, including business cases, business requirements documents, functional requirements documents, process flows, user stories, use cases, and solution documentation.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, developers, QA teams, and project leadership to ensure alignment between business needs and solution delivery.
• Support agile and waterfall project delivery by facilitating backlog planning, feature decomposition, sprint planning, prioritization, and requirements traceability.
• Lead or support quality assurance activities, including test strategy, test planning, test case development, defect management, UAT support, and validation of delivered functionality.
• Identify, assess, and help mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and business readiness considerations.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to business analysts, consultants, and project team members.
• Support business development activities, including effort estimation, resource planning, proposal development, RFP responses, and solution scoping.
• Develop user guides, training materials, and process documentation; deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to clients and end users.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to successful delivery across multiple client engagements and industries.
• Participate in talent attraction, team building, hiring, and internal practice development initiatives.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $112,000 - $168,000 annually.
