Salary Range: $68,000.00 To $72,000.00 Annually
Position Purpose and Summary
The manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all daily activities related to the custodial, waste management, and pest control functions of the University, including basic purchasing, staff development, and budget management.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing custodial services for all campus buildings including the upkeep and special finishes and cleaning of all buildings.
- Responsible for the waste management program on campus and documenting waste stream data.
- Responsible for managing an effective Pest Control program on campus and documenting data.
- Responsible for ensuring all custodial equipment is working properly.
- Responsible for prospective employees, conduct evaluations for direct reports and make recommendations for employment or termination of the same as per university policies and procedures.
- Responsible for department adherence to all applicable safety requirements and oversight of the same. Provides training opportunities for staff as required to ensure proper understanding of safe work procedures.
- Responsible for soliciting competitive bids for supplies and services and evaluating for best fit. Monitor the performance of suppliers and service providers on an ongoing basis to ensure contract performance and University needs are met.
- Responsible for inspecting all areas every week and communicating with staff and faculty in all buildings regularly. Visits Building Services staff in their work area at least weekly.
- Responsible for preparing the various annual budget requests, submitting them for approval, and generally ensuring that services are provided cost-effectively. Monitors budget expenses and does not exceed budget without supervisor approval. Communicate all unusual or unplanned but necessary expenditures to the supervisor.
- Responsible for ensuring departmental software is utilized and maximized.
- Responsible for updating Key Performance Indicators as required to optimize operations.
- Responsible for encouraging and maintaining an atmosphere of spiritual growth and skill development amongst all staff through weekly staff meetings. Encourages Christian relationships within the community through the interaction of dept. staff with colleagues, faculty, and students. Encourages a prayerful and disciplined approach to the completion of individual daily responsibilities.
- Responsible for personally acting in a manner that exemplifies Jesus Christ in all on and off-campus contacts, thereby living out the mission of the university.

Standards & Requirements
Education: A 2-year diploma is required, a bachelor's degree or Facility Management Professional credential is preferred.
Experience: 5 – 7 years of Custodial experience required. WHMIS training preferred.
Duties and responsibilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.
