About the team you are joining:

The Ground Operations team drives global development, implementation, and adoption of the standards and best practices. The area of work includes safety, innovation, automation, efficiency, auditing, and sustainability. Our team is the main contributor to the success of the ground operations product and services portfolio, which includes various standards manuals (BRM, AHM, IGOM), IATA training courses, IT solutions, as well as the IATA Ground Handling Conference.

Our team is results-driven, energetic, and hardworking, consisting of junior and senior talents with multiple years of operational, baggage, safety, audit, and leadership experiences.

What your day would be like:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Baggage Operations, the candidate will be:

  • Developing Baggage Tagging standards.
  • Developing Off-Airport operations standards and best practices.
  • Enhancing standards and practices related to Baggage Prorate and Claim.
  • Analyzing baggage performance data: collecting, analyzing, and interpreting baggage performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and to support decision-making processes.
  • Implementing strategic plans into day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinating activities within the baggage working group and sub-groups, ensuring effective communication.
  • Handling client communications and stakeholders’ engagement.
  • Updating respective IATA baggage standards, recommended practices, and publications, e.g., BRM.
  • Cooperating with industry stakeholders and experts, managing technical teams and industry subject matter experts, preparing the work plan in accordance with the objectives/industry goals, facilitating meetings and work to ensure that the objectives/goals are met.
  • Ensuring that the IATA standards and resolutions and best practices are aligned with the latest industry practices, trends, technological solutions, and regulatory aspects.
  • Supporting the implementation of IATA standards and programs, including coordination with IATA regional offices on topics related to baggage operations.
  • Managing communication related to baggage operation/innovation, updating websites, marketing & implementation campaigns.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the field of baggage operations, logistics, or supply chain management (a university degree is an advantage).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IATA baggage Resolutions & Recommended Practices and IATA Baggage Reference Manual.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret baggage-related data to make recommendations for process improvement.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset to positively impact baggage operations performance.
  • A dynamic personality, flexible, team-oriented, and able to work autonomously, handling a variety of tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
