Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation seeks a Manager of Auto Service Operations to lead in-store process improvements, drive operational excellence, and support growth across retail and fleet channels. You will set objectives, guide teams, and partner with Dealers to ensure seamless execution and measurable results.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across Corporate teams, Dealers, and partners.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with Dealer committees to identify opportunities to simplify the business, increase sales and store profitability
  • Support the operational execution of retail and fleet/commercial Auto Service priorities, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals, Dealer needs, and customer expectations
  • Develop and support strategies that improve Auto Service performance, including sales growth, service retention, operational consistency, and customer experience across all channels
  • Partner with internal teams, Dealers, stores, and external stakeholders to define business requirements and resolve operational barriers
  • Monitor performance, identify opportunities to improve service delivery and profitability, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions and implement efficiency improvements
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Oversee multiple work streams and projects, ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide clear feedback to enable better decision-making by stakeholders
  • Motivate and develop the team, delegate tasks, and support execution
  • Develop communication plans to inform Dealers and teams of priorities
  • Identify problems, analyze root causes, and propose effective solutions
  • Track progress of initiatives and adjust to achieve outcomes
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and transparent impact assessment
  • Encourage continuous improvement and openness to change
  • Act as key contact and SME for Auto Service Support
  • Travel may be required to Canadian Tire stores across Canada

Job description

What you’ll do

Reporting to the AVP, Auto Service and Operations, the role of the Manager, Auto Service Operations is to improve in-store processes, strengthen operational execution, and support growth across retail and fleet/commercial Auto Service channels. The Manager, Auto Service Operations will ensure that proper objectives and goals are established, facilitate and drive the team to meet key deliverables, and provide support and insights to Dealers by implementing strategies that effectively manage change, minimize resistance, and ensure smooth execution. This role will also manage the Fleet/Commercial business for CT Auto Service by supporting program development, partner execution, operational readiness, performance tracking, and continuous improvement across the Dealer network. The successful candidate will demonstrate behaviours aligned to Canadian Tire’s values by being driven to deliver results, courageous in challenging the status quo and making informed decisions, and united in how they collaborate across teams, Dealers, and partners. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong leadership and influencing skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and a proven track record for delivering quality results.

  • Partner with internal teams, Dealers, stores, and external stakeholders to define business requirements, resolve operational barriers, and ensure consistent execution of key Auto Service initiatives
  • Monitor operational and business performance, identify opportunities to improve service delivery and profitability, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for Dealers and Corporate stakeholders
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Actively oversee multiple work streams and phases of various projects
  • Provide clear, actionable, and timely feedback to allow stakeholders to make better decisions
  • Motivate and inspire the team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide guidance and support when needed
  • Develop clear communication plans to inform Dealers and their teams of key Auto Service priorities
  • Identify problems, analyze them critically, and develop effective solutions
  • Track the progress of key operational initiatives, measuring their effectiveness, and adjusting as needed to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ensure cross functional alignment and impact is understood and considered with all decisions
  • Encourage innovation, foster a culture of learning, and proactively seek opportunities to optimize processes and enhance operational performance
  • Demonstrate being driven by proactively identifying opportunities, taking ownership of outcomes, and maintaining focus on priorities that improve customer experience, Dealer profitability, and operational performance
  • Demonstrate being courageous by respectfully challenging existing ways of working, making fact-based recommendations, surfacing risks early, and leading through ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrate being united by building trusted relationships, aligning stakeholders around shared goals, and creating clear communication pathways across Corporate teams, Dealers, stores, and fleet/commercial partners
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risk, ensuring minimal disruption to Auto Service operations
  • Maintain and encourage open lines of communication between groups/team members via positive relationship management
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by gathering feedback from employees and stakeholders, analyzing lessons learned, and applying best practices for future initiatives
  • Act as key contact and SME for Auto Service Support
  • Travel may be required periodically to Canadian Tire stores across Canada

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in business or related area- minimum of 5 years progressive management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate experience
  • A deep understanding of business principles, financial management, and operational metrics
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to function in an environment with a high level of ambiguity and change.
  • Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; Juggling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Possessing strong understanding of Canadian Tire operations is an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for automotive and a desire to collaborate, influence and work with a variety of entrepreneurial Dealers
  • Experience managing and supporting vendor, partner, and B2B relationships, including the ability to balance business requirements, store execution, stakeholder alignment, and customer experience
  • Proven ability to develop effective cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of business strategies and initiatives that achieve financial performance and operational targets
  • Strong leadership with the attention for detail and a readiness to continually look for ways to improve operations
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in tandem and adhere to various deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact with multiple stakeholder groups across the organization at various levels, and confidence representing the team in various forums/committees

Broadband Salary Range: $79,000 – $131,000 CAD.
Ourtypical hiring range is between $110,000 and $120,000 CAD. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
