An established industry player is seeking a Manager for Audits and Investigations to ensure sound forest practices in British Columbia. The Team: The Forest Practices Board employs an established team of about 20 professionals, including registered professional foresters, biologists, agrologists, and geoscientists, all committed to serving the public interest. As the independent watchdog for sound forest and range practices in BC, our team conducts audits and investigations that contribute to stronger decision-making and improved forest practices across the province. Team members collaborate closely with colleagues such as Board members, the Executive Director, the General Counsel, and others, all motivated by a shared commitment to making a positive impact.
The Role: The Manager, Audits and Investigations, supports the Board’s audit and complaint investigation programs to ensure sound forest and range practices across BC. Responsibilities include leading project teams, developing audit and investigation plans, and engaging directly with the public, Indigenous governments, licensees, and government agencies to address concerns and promote fair legislation application. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to transparency, accountability, and stewardship on public lands throughout the province. About this Position: This is a temporary role until March 31, 2026, with potential extension or permanency. The main office is in Victoria; remote work is permitted. Candidates can work up to full-time from home in BC with an approved Telework Agreement. Location details are for search purposes and are not exhaustive. Employees must be based in BC at employment start. A bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply depending on location. An eligibility list may be created for future vacancies. This position is excluded from union membership. A Criminal Record Check is required.
