The Department of Information Technologies is currently seeking a full-time, regular Manager, Audio Visual & Learning Space Technology.

As part of the Services portfolio, the Information Technologies (IT) organization is a key stakeholder and contributor. IT provides computing, network, and media services to support learning, teaching, research, and administration. This position reports to the Director, Customer Technology, and manages teams of Audio-Visual Technicians across three areas: Technical, Classroom Support, and Events (known as Com/Media). While it does not require shift work, occasional evening, early-morning, or weekend activities may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and meet customer expectations.
  • Lead and mentor staff, ensuring their growth and development.
  • Work within processes and use metrics for service delivery and improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external units to meet customer needs.
  • Take ownership of complex programs, services, and assets.
  • Manage budgets effectively.
  • Foster a learning environment adaptable to change.
  • Escalate and manage incidents outside of service levels, ensuring communication and resolution.
  • Participate in incident reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on AV technology trends.
  • Ensure incidents are logged, reports are produced, and incidents are resolved promptly.
  • Document service procedures and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Research and recommend improvements to AV tools.
  • Work with teams to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Promote IT services campus-wide.
  • Provide friendly, comprehensive support.
  • Understand AV requirements of the university community and make strategic recommendations.
  • Build rapport with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Develop processes for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with support groups and classroom support teams for process integration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with university units.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; 3-5 years of IT or AV experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Support methodology.
  • Experience with incident, change management, and communication.
  • Understanding of information systems enabling technologies.
  • Troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and systems integration.
  • Experience with lifecycle and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of university systems and culture.
  • Ability to work under stress with sensitivity to user needs.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Willingness to develop professionally.
