Job summary

MNP, a leading national accounting, tax and business advisory firm in Canada, is seeking a Manager in the Assurance & Accounting team. You will lead client engagements, deliver technical assurance, manage a client portfolio, and guide teams to ensure high-quality, compliant outcomes.

The role emphasizes mentoring, business development, and cross-functional collaboration with a culture focused on entrepreneurial thinking and client value. Travel flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
• Proven people management and leadership skills.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Lead client facing engagement teams to complete compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions.
• Deliver industry and technical expertise in assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high‑quality deliverables.
• Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop.
• Review of financial files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards; engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials.
• Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports.
• Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Skills And Experience

• 6 years of relevant accounting experience
• Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
• Experience working with accounting and tax software

The annual salary range for this position is: $60,000–$110,000.
