Job summary

MNP is seeking a knowledgeable Manager for the Assurance & Accounting team to lead client-facing engagements and deliver tailored financial information that helps clients make informed decisions. You will manage project budgets, schedules, and relationships while mentoring team members, with travel as needed.

The role emphasizes leadership, accounting expertise, and driving service excellence within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape in Canada.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Lead client facing engagement teams to complete compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions.
• Deliver industry and technical expertise in assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables.
• Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop.
• Review of financial files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
• Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports.
