A leading company is seeking a CPA to manage assurance engagements and provide mentorship to junior staff. This role involves hands-on technical work and building client relationships while fostering team development in a flexible environment. Ideal candidates will possess a strong knowledge of ASPE and exhibit leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and/or review assurance and non-assurance engagements and projects
· Prepare and/or perform initial review of corporate, personal and estate tax returns
· Stay current on the accounting, assurance, quality control and ethical standards applicable to the client base, including recent changes to standards
· Provide consultations to clients on various accounting, payroll and similar matters
· Provide practical solutions to clients through real-world business smarts and experience
· Work independently on special assignments
· Begin to develop and build on new business opportunities with existing clients, and continually maintain a positive client relationship
· Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional development through regular feedback and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge
· Participate in interviews and assist in the selection of new talent during recruitment periods
· Share knowledge with peers to develop professional skills and improve service delivery
· Provide a stable, flexible environment that is grounded in teamwork and supports personal and professional development
Qualifications:
· A Canadian CPA designation, (any legacy), with minimum 1-3 years post-designation experience
· Sound technical knowledge of ASPE and experience performing and/or leading review engagements
· Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal
· Proven people influencing and leadership ability
· Proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships
· Experience working within tight deadlines with multiple priorities
· Experience working in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment
· Positive and proactive attitude
· A self-directed learning philosophy, always staying on the cutting edge of best practices
· A great sense of humour and enthusiasm
Skills - Must Have:
CPA designation (Canadian, any legacy)
Minimum 1–3 years post-designation experience
Strong technical knowledge of ASPE
Experience leading or performing review engagements
Experience preparing and reviewing assurance and non-assurance files
Proficiency in preparing and reviewing corporate, personal, and estate tax returns
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership and team mentoring abilities
Strong client relationship management
