KPMG in Canada is seeking a Director to join our Quebec City office. You will oversee and manage client assurance and tax engagements, guiding engagements from planning through to final statements and deliverables. Lead, mentor, and train assurance staff while collaborating with clients and partners on complex issues.

You will apply KPMG's assurance and accounting practices and leverage strong leadership to drive high-quality results in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation in Canada (CPA).
  • 5+ years of experience in a public practice accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and Canadian tax.
  • Experience advising on day-to-day tax matters.
  • Experience with Reviews and Compilation Engagements.
  • Excellent client service and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to lead, delegate and mentor staff.

KPMG is looking for a Director to join its dynamic team at our Quebec City office. Our teams of professionals help our clients manage risks so they can focus on their core activities. Because they know the client’s business in great detail, our professionals are able to uncover previously unsuspected opportunities to improve the firm's performance and efficiency.

What you will do
  • Oversee and manage various client assurance and tax engagements (Reviews & Compilations).
  • Manage engagements from planning to completion of statements and other deliverables.
  • Counsel, train and mentor assurance staff.
  • Working with clients and partners through complex issues to come up with appropriate solutions that meet your clients` needs.
  • Apply KPMG's assurance and accounting practices/methodologies on client engagements.
What you bring to the role
  • Canadian CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of experience working with a public practice accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and Canadian corporate and personal tax.
  • Previous experience advising clients on day-to-day tax matters.
  • Previous experience with Reviews and Compilation Engagements.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities is derived from your dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service.
  • Strong team player and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Professional accounting firm experience is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage staff through effective delegation and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
  • Strong mentoring and performance management skills.
