Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Canada is seeking a motivated Manager, Assurance to lead client engagements and drive service delivery across industries. You will mentor teams, manage resources, and contribute to the firm’s growth through advisory services and business development.

The role emphasizes collaborative leadership, a strong client focus, and delivering high-quality assurance work within a fast-paced professional environment.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice.
• Experience working with owner-managed clients in a public practice setting.
• Demonstrated success in business development and client advisory services.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across industries.
• Contribute to new business development by leveraging credibility and services.
• Act as a leader in the office, service line, and firm with strategic planning.
• Maximize engagement profitability by resource management.
• Plan and lead teams to exceed client expectations.
• Supervise and mentor accounting and auditing teams, reviewing files.
• Provide ongoing feedback and deliver training to develop team members.

As a Manager, Assurance your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and executing client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectors
• Contributing to new business development by understanding all Doane Grant Thornton services and by using your credibility in the field
• Acting as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan
• Maximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resources
• Planning and leading teams to ensure that client expectations are exceeded
• Supervision and mentoring of an accounting and auditing teams, including the review of files
• Leading through the coaching and performance management process of the practice by providing ongoing feedback, conducting timely performance reviews, and delivering training to develop team members
