Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton LLP in Canada is seeking a Manager, Assurance to lead client engagements across industries, contribute to business development, and guide accounting and auditing teams. You will mentor staff, review files, and help shape the office business plan while delivering high-quality service to owner-managed businesses.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice, in accounting and for small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses.
• Experience working with owner managed clients within a public practice scope.
• Demonstrated success in business development and advisory and team management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and deepen meaningful business relationships with colleagues, clients and in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Leading and executing client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectors.
• Contributing to new business development by understanding all Doane Grant Thornton services and by using your credibility in the field.
• Acting as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan.
• Maximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resources.
• Planning and leading teams to ensure that client expectations are exceeded.
• Supervision and mentoring of an accounting and auditing teams, including the review of files.
• Leading through the coaching and performance management process of the practice by providing ongoing feedback, conducting timely performance reviews, and delivering training to develop team members.
