Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Manager to join our Assurance team in Calgary. The successful candidate will oversee assurance and non-assurance engagements, develop client portfolios, and provide insightful financial services.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of management experience in an accounting and/or assurance role.
  • Bilingual is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review assurance and non-assurance engagements to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Effectively plan, supervise, and execute assurance engagements.
  • Develop a portfolio of new clients and business opportunities.

Your Opportunity

Our Calgary office is looking for a Manager to join the Assurance team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Review assurance and non‑assurance engagements for private or NPO organizations to ensure that relevant professional standards and firm policies are followed
  • Effectively plan, supervise and execute assurance and non‑assurance engagements
  • Prepare financial statements, conduct due diligence, and provide services related to capital raising and tax for assurance and non‑assurance clients
  • Develop a portfolio of new clients and business opportunities with existing clients on an ongoing basis
  • Address client issues in a timely manner, following BDO policy and using strong technical and accounting skills
  • Apply industry and business knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business

Experience & Education
  • Professional designation required (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
  • 1+ years of management experience in an accounting and/or assurance role
  • Bilingual is an asset
  • In‑depth experience in relation to ASPE or ASNPO files
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Act as a leader in the firm, continually focusing on employee engagement
