As the Assistant Controller (Canada), you will…

  • Manage daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team through performance management, training, and coaching
  • Review reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, and ensure the delivery of accurate financial statements
  • Ensure all journal entries comply with IFRS and SOX standards
  • Prepare monthly financial analyses and reports for various stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial consolidation
  • Analyze variances and forecasts to support reporting requirements
  • Design and maintain internal controls to ensure SOX compliance in a multinational organization
  • Lead process improvements and technology enhancements, including report standardization and consolidation processes
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and special projects like ERP implementations
  • Coordinate with external auditors during reviews and audits, and handle ad hoc reporting

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a finance leader and people manager in a publicly traded company
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, with a CPA designation or equivalent experience
  • Experience with complex consolidations in a global organization and ERP software (asset)
