Job summary

Realstar is seeking a Manager, Asset Management to drive the financial performance of our multi-residential portfolio, translating strategy into operational and financial results at the asset level. This hands-on role requires a strong financial background and expertise in budgeting, leasing strategies, capex and reporting.

You will partner with property teams and present to senior leadership. You will leverage technology including Yardi, SQL, BI and AI productivity tools to enhance reporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a financial capacity
• University degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Commerce, or related discipline
• Real estate experience in multi-residential and/or commercial sectors preferred
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel
• Familiarity with Yardi, SQL, BI tools, and AI productivity tools an asset
• Clear and confident communicator, able to present findings to senior leadership
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadline
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive, ownership-oriented approach to work

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the financial performance of an assigned portfolio of multi-residential assets, with a focus on NOI and asset value
• Prepare, review, and track annual operating and capital budgets; conduct variance analysis and reporting
• Develop and maintain asset-level business plans including leasing, capex and value-creation strategies
• Partner with property management teams to support operations and meet performance targets
• Conduct regular property-level reviews, site visits, and operational assessments
• Support investment committee materials, investor reporting and ad hoc analysis
• Track market trends, rental benchmarks, and comparable transactions for asset strategy
• Leverage Yardi and AI-enabled platforms to improve reporting efficiency and analytics
• Liaise with third-party clients to provide asset insights and reporting

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager, Asset Management to join our team. Reporting to the VP, Asset Management, this individual will be a key contributor to the performance of our multi-residential portfolio - translating strategy into operational and financial results at the asset level. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong financial background who is eager to develop deep asset management expertise in the residential real estate sector.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and manage the financial performance of an assigned portfolio of multi-residential assets, with a focus on maximizing net operating income (NOI) and overall asset value
• Prepare, review, and track annual operating and capital budgets; conduct period-end variance analysis and produce management reporting
• Develop and maintain asset-level business plans, including leasing, capital expenditure, and value-creation strategies
• Partner with property management teams to support day-to-day operations and hold teams accountable to performance targets
• Conduct regular property-level reviews, including site visits and operational assessments
• Support the preparation of investment committee materials, investor reporting, and ad hoc analysis as required
• Track market trends, rental rate benchmarks, and comparable transactions to inform asset strategy
• Leverage technology tools - including Yardi and AI-enabled platforms - to improve reporting efficiency and analytical capabilities
• Liaise with third-party clients to provide asset insights and reporting

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in a financial capacity, does not need to be specifically in Asset Management
• University degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Commerce, or a related discipline
• Real estate experience in multi-residential and/or commercial sectors preferred
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel required
• Avid learner comfortable with exploring new technologies; familiarity with Yardi, SQL, BI tools, and AI productivity tools an asset
• Clear and confident communicator, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under deadline
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive, ownership-oriented approach to work
