Role summary:

We are looking for a result-driven Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager who will develop and implement strategies to support the financial health of NOVONIX. This person will report directly to the Assistant Controller and oversee NOVONIX’s accounts payable and receivable function in Canada. In the role of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable from purchase order reviews to entry through cash disbursements to vendor statement reconciliation as well as the full cycle of accounts receivable from sales order to invoicing and cash application.

This is a full-time position with at least 4 days per week onsite in either our Dartmouth or Bedford office locations. There will be minimal travel involved, but plan to visit our other site location in Chattanooga, TN for learnings and teambuilding.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable and accounts receivable data
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines as well as SOX compliance
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information to ensure accuracy of supporting financial statements, including determining accruals and reconciling aging reports
  • Prepare weekly payment batches, including the development of schedules for recurring payments and other contract obligations
  • Resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies with other departments and Suppliers
  • Review employee expense reports and enter in reporting system(s) as required
  • Maintain historical records by scanning documents
  • Collaborate closely with Assistant Controller to maintain outstanding financial health for NOVONIX
  • Actively monitor the invoicing and collection processes, ensuring the timely collection of payments
  • Negotiate with customers in cases when nonpayment occurs
  • Prepare monthly reports on accounts payable and receivable status
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors regarding monthly, quarterly, and annual Canadian tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Manage, train, and mentor staff members in the department
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as assigned

You are:

  • A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field or an associate degree complemented with an accounts payable and/or accounts receivable certification
  • An experienced accounting professional with 5+ years of experience in accounts payable/receivable or experience in a general accounting position
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 with a strong emphasis on Excel
  • Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done and satisfy customers/stakeholders

  • Well organized and invested in the details
  • Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization

Extra awesome if you also have:

  • Oracle or large ERP experience (understanding process flow)
