Qualifications

The Senior Manager, Anaplan COE will be a key member of our Center of Excellence (COE) in the FP&A Transformation team, responsible for building, updating, training, testing, supporting, and maintaining Anaplan models. This role involves collaborating with various business units, and the implementation team, to ensure that Anaplan models are effectively designed, built, and maintained to meet business needs. This role will ensure efficient and effective use of Anaplan across the organization and contribute to continuous improvement of our planning processes.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Support in the development of the Anaplan Centre of Excellence, advising and supporting on team operating model design to deliver on the technical & functional development of Anaplan planning models and the sustainment of the solution
  • Partner and review with stakeholders to ensure changing business needs are addressed ensuring that Anaplan solutions are aligned to strategy
  • Support COE team lead in driving transformation and innovation in the planning process
  • Work with key business stakeholders and the implementation team to understand clients’ business processes and business requirements
  • Advise on the architectural design of connected solutions to ensure models are built efficiently
  • Support on UX design to drive usability and user value
  • Drive the development of documented business requirements and processes to create functional specifications
  • Translate requirements into functional requirements and use cases
  • Craft and build Anaplan application models to support business processes
  • Build and develop Anaplan modules using the Anaplan Way methodology
  • Build data flows to and from clients’ systems and reconcile data
  • Conduct root cause analyses and develop solutions to address system issues and improve performance.
  • Lead updates of existing models to incorporate changing business requirements, ensuring continuous functionality and data accuracy.
  • Monitor system performance, manage access control, and ensure data integrity
  • Oversee and conduct rigorous testing of Anaplan models, identify and resolve issues to ensure robustness and reliability.
  • Lead in the development and delivery of training sessions and support in the creation of supportive documentation for end-users to maximize their proficiency in using Anaplan.
  • Offer and direct ongoing technical support and troubleshooting to end-users, promptly address issues that may arise.

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Anaplan certification (e.g., Certified Master Anaplanner) is required.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis is required.
  • Prior experience in a COE or equivalent centralized model-building unit is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Anaplan model building and maintenance.
  • Experience in data analysis, data management, or related fields.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to support and guide junior team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques
