About The Role
Step into a pivotal role at ATB as our Manager, Accounting Policy for the next 12 months! We're seeking a driven professional to lead the development and implementation of key accounting policies. Your direct and recent experience in financial reporting, coupled with a deep understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards, will be essential as you translate intricate accounting concepts into clear, concise communication. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact our external and internal reporting and to collaborate as a vital business partner. You'll also have the chance to lead and contribute to a variety of impactful projects, driving innovation and excellence in our financial operations.
Accountabilities
- Stay ahead of the curve: Monitor and analyze emerging IFRS Accounting Standards, proactively assessing their impact on ATB's financial reporting and strategy.
- Build and maintain the foundation: Develop and refine comprehensive documentation to guide ATB's interpretation and application of accounting standards, ensuring rigorous compliance with IFRS.
- Collaborate and communicate: Partner with diverse teams across the organization to prepare insightful quarterly and annual financial commentaries for external and internal audiences.
- Drive accuracy and efficiency: Contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, adhering to auditing and accounting standards while upholding a robust control environment.
- Ensure regulatory excellence: Support and enhance ATB's regulatory reporting processes, contributing to our commitment to transparency and compliance.
- Lead and innovate: Actively participate in and contribute to special projects and address complex technical accounting matters, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- University Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required, along with a CPA designation.
- 5 years of post-designation experience.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of IFRS and reporting requirements.
- High degree of problem solving ability and critical thinking.
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
- Strong team player, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Acute attention to detail with the ability to meet multiple deliverables.
- Ability to think outside the box while providing strong analysis and insight.
- A background with an audit firm or financial institution preferred.
