Blackbird Security Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join our team and play a key role in strengthening our financial operations as we continue to build and expand our company.
Role Summary: As the Accounting Manager, you will lead our Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and CFO. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Vancouver, BC. The role requires a proactive individual who is ready to take ownership, work independently, and drive the performance and productivity of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, possess strong time management skills, and demonstrate a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles along with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team.
- Supervise the bi-weekly invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Monitor outstanding and overdue invoices, ensuring appropriate follow-ups and reminders.
- Ensure the completion of key financial deliverables in accordance with internal deadlines and standards.
- Maintain and update accurate financial records.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and issued invoices regularly.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of bi-weekly invoices.
- Communicate with clients professionally and promptly regarding billing inquiries.
- Identify discrepancies or issues in financial data and take corrective actions.
- Update payroll hours control sheet and review adjustment control sheets.
- Supervise bookkeeping processes, including AR/AP reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with period-end close activities.
- Log and propose process improvements quarterly.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management as needed.
- Provide support to the Financial Controller or CFO.
- Collaborate on financial projects and ad hoc tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 1 year of experience managing or supervising a team.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field is an asset.
- Experience with TrackTik software is an asset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to report to Vancouver office regularly.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
