Title: Accounting Manager

Outcomes

  1. Accounting and Financial Reporting: Oversee global accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring full compliance with international tax laws and regulations.
  2. Manage month-end close process, including journal entry review, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements for month end accuracy and reduced close timelines.
  3. Own and maintain the chart of accounts and reporting dimensions, ensuring improved data accuracy.
  4. Deliver regular internal management reporting to support informed decision-making.
  1. Finance Operations: Supervise and support the accounts payable process, including weekly payment run preparation, cash disbursements and collections.
  2. Responsible for timely resolution of vendor queries, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  3. Monitor accounts receivable aging and escalate high-risk balances to collections agency and senior leadership, minimizing bad debt exposure and improving cash flow.
  1. Taxation: Preparation of tax related financial schedules for preparation of Canadian tax returns.
  2. Work with third party providers to coordinate and complete timely filing of tax returns across international entities.
  3. Ensure the timely preparation and filing of HST/VAT and all other multijurisdictional/global statutory obligations.
  4. Assist with year-end adjustments and ensure financial statements reflect tax-related impacts accurately.
  1. Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external year-end audits by preparing reconciliations, supporting schedules, and review processes, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.
  1. Systems & Technology: Highlight your technical skills and ability to improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy by leading the implementation and optimization of cloud-based accounting systems (e.g. Xero and QuickBooks).
  2. Utilize Power BI to develop insightful financial dashboards, automate reporting, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  3. Ensure data integrity and system compliance through routine audits and system checks.
