Family Office Services Manager

The Client

Our client, Richter , is a leading professional services firm with a strong presence in Toronto, providing tailored solutions to high-net-worth families. Within its Family Office Services (FOS) division, Richter acts as a personal CFO to clients, delivering a customized approach that includes cash management, lifestyle management, integrated financial planning, and day-to-day accounting and compliance. The FOS team serves as a trusted advisor to families, coordinating with their bankers, accountants, lawyers, and other advisors to optimize wealth structures, manage complex investments, and support multi-generational planning.

The Opportunity

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled accounting and tax professional with expertise in investment and partnership accounting, corporate and personal taxation, and an understanding of financial products. The Family Office Services Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic financial guidance, overseeing compliance and reporting, and leading a dedicated team to ensure exceptional service delivery. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to navigate complex structures and deliver practical solutions to meet the unique needs of high-net-worth families.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact person for families on all accounting and fiscal matters.

Work collaboratively with various departments to identify opportunities and provide tailored recommendations to families.

Coordinate financial activities with client advisors, including bankers, accountants, and lawyers.

Navigate and understand complex structures involving investment companies, trust companies, partnerships, and multiple generations.

Conduct mandates with professional standards using sound methodologies and techniques.

Coordinate, supervise, and provide training to staff in preparing financial information and tax returns.

Review compilation engagements as well as corporate, personal, and trust returns.

Manage various compliance requirements and deadlines to ensure timely delivery.

Provide financial projections, tax estimates, and in-depth analysis of clients’ pro forma information, assessing transactional implications and tax impacts.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients’ investments, including accounting, fiscal, and legal considerations.

Offer advice on cash flow optimization and the overall wealth structure.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

CPA designation.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

Experience within a Family Office environment is an asset.

Strong knowledge of taxation.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desire to contribute to a dynamic, growing team.
