About us:
The Myhal Centre Fabrication Facility supports physical fabrication for undergrad/graduate students and personal projects by Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering members. The facility covers a wide range of techniques from traditional fabrication with soft materials (plastic/fabrics/foams/wood/sheet metal) to modern digital fabrication tools (3D printing/ Laser cutting/CNC routing).
Your opportunity:
The Myhal Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MCEIE) Facilitator uses the resources available in the MCEIE’s principal design spaces (the Light Fabrication Facility (LFF) the Rapid Prototyping Facility (RPF) and the Printed Circuit Board Prototyping (PCBP) Facility, ensuring that they are organized, well maintained, and sufficiently stocked. The incumbent demonstrates and practices instructional leadership in the use of tools, machines and material selection along with assembly techniques, practical demonstrations, and safety. This position requires working with faculty and Teaching Assistants (TAs) from various engineering disciplines, and knowledge of the resources available at the Faculty’s satellite maker spaces, so as to support the learning process. The Facilitator supports students, encouraging them to use the feedback from their own experimentation to inform multiple design iterations, fabrication and testing.
