Job summary

Our vibrant Advancement Office is seeking a Major Gifts Associate to join our small but mighty team! This is a 2-3 year contract position and flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, the Major Gifts Associate is responsible for supporting the major gifts portfolio related to the College’s capital campaign.

Position Requirements

  • Prospect Research : Identify and research potential major donors within the school's community or alumni network.
  • Proposal Development : Craft fundraising proposals and presentations that include compelling narratives and strategic plans to secure financial support.
  • Data Management and Reporting : With the support of the Manager of Advancement Services, maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donors, prospects, and their interactions in the school's donor database, and provide regular reports for Sr. Leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Campaign Cabinet.
  • Donor Cultivation : Help develop and implement strategies to cultivate and steward major donors and ensure that the appropriate moves are being met.
  • Recognition Programs : Manage our donor recognition programs, such as naming opportunities for facilities, scholarships, or programs. Coordinate the signage, plaques, or other forms of recognition associated with these opportunities.
  • Campaign Communications : Create campaign communications, such as acknowledgments, follow-up letters, and newsletters; and ensure that campaign communications and cultivation event activity plans are met.
  • Event Coordination : Support the planning and execution of donor cultivation events, including receptions, dinners, campus tours, and galas.
  • Administrative Support : Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Advancement, such as scheduling meetings, preparing materials for presentations, managing correspondence, assisting in the preparation for campaign cabinet meetings, and note taking.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five years of relevant Advancement experience preferred
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or another relational database
  • Creative and innovative with a high-degree of professionalism and discretion
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in an organized manner
  • CFRE designation is considered an asset
  • Education philanthropy or experience in a similar setting preferred
