OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross has an opening for a Major Account Business Development Executive, in our Major Accounts area. Working in a flexible work style, the role is responsible for business development, which includes prospecting, selling and retaining corporate business in the 1,000 and up employee market in Edmonton and area. The objective of the role is to ensure that new business, retention and profitability targets are met and exceeded and that the business is financially viable, administratively feasible, and enhances the overall customer experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
New business development including the following:
Networking and relationship building in the enterprise segment – establishing Alberta Blue Cross as the benefit provider of choice for Alberta-based major employers.
Quickly creating a level of trust with all advisors, clients and prospects while keeping promises in delivering strong results.
Articulating what can be done for the client/prospect/advisor and why they should work with Alberta Blue Cross.
Understanding procurement and RFP cycles for enterprise clients to help steer their delivery and position Alberta Blue Cross as a natural fit.
Engagement and follow up on opportunities and proposals to determine the competitiveness in the group insurance market.
Assistance in the enrolment and installation of new business.
Presentation and negotiation of policy renewals to the assigned book of business, ensuring viable, long term partnerships.
Internal stakeholder engagement:
Work with all applicable business units on issues relating to administration of the corporate account book of business.
Achieve and maintain a thorough knowledge of the suite of products and services.
Servicing:
Work with the Major Accounts Service team to ensure an effective, high level of partnership with our enterprise clients.
Develop and maintain robust relationships with existing clients.
Develop and strengthens relationships with assigned benefit consultants.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
A trusted partner approach in engaging clients and prospective opportunities in a proactive fashion.
A strong sales focus and self-motivation towards targets and goals.
Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, benefit advisors, underwriters, and the sales and service teams.
Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrate professionalism and excellence in sales ability and presentation skills.
A significant background and knowledge in the group benefits industry.
A passion for continuous learning with a desire to get better by enrolling in continuing educational courses (i.e. CEBS, industry related conferences, seminars as required).
Preference will be given to those candidates that possess a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or higher designation, such as CEBS.
Life, Accident, and Sickness licensing is required.
