Job description

MaxSys Staffing & Consulting will not sponsor individuals for employment visas. Only candidates authorized to work in Canada will be contacted. We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Worker for our client in the Saint John area. As a Maintenance Worker, you'll be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair needs, and ensuring the overall functionality of our facilities. While this position runs Monday-Friday during business hours, there will be some on-call evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

Pay rate :

  • 19-25 / h based on experience + 4% vacation pay, paid weekly

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on various equipment and systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any issues or potential problems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities with external contractors when necessary.
  • Weld and fabricate metal components as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following :

  • Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with staff and address their maintenance needs.
  • Proficiency in English to understand and follow instructions, manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures and best practices.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Must have basic tools.
  • Must have a clean criminal record.
