Job description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all band buildings, including the administration building, are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition. Your duties will include routine cleaning, seasonal outdoor maintenance, setting up for events, and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and functional environment for the community and ensuring the upkeep of essential facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the administration building and other band facilities.
  • Follow a daily checklist to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed effectively.
  • Set up and clean up meeting spaces and programming areas, including arranging audio and visual equipment as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and banquet equipment, replenishing stock as necessary.
  • Perform shopping duties for supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks such as snow removal, salting and sanding entrances/exits, grass cutting, and weed trimming.
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks within buildings, such as changing filters for heating and cooling units.
  • Be available onsite for after-hour events either by request or as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address repair or maintenance needs.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Technical proficiency with computers, audio, and visual equipment.
  • Physically able to move heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and/or access to reliable transportation is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $42,900 – $48,750
