Job summary

Bunge is seeking a Maintenance Worker at its Harrowby site in Russell, MB. The role focuses on mechanical support for the maintenance reliability department, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and maintaining clear records of labor and materials.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in process environments, with technical/vocational training, strong communication, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of referenceable industrial mechanical maintenance experience in process, food or chemical environments on Harrowby equipment (conveyors, pumps, fans).
• Technical/vocational training required; strong written and verbal communication, plus math/analytical skills.
• On-call availability, weekends/holidays, and ability to work solo or in a team under time pressure.
• Proven safety record and commitment to improving plant safety with proactive input.
• Excellent attendance, adaptability, and receptiveness to change.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as skid steers and forklifts.
• Interest in troubleshooting, reducing downtime, and understanding plant systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties safely, demonstrate safety leadership, and uphold a zero-incident culture.
• Collaborate with department managers, supervisors, contractors, and hourly staff.
• Carry out predictive and preventive maintenance as per the maintenance program.
• Record labor and materials used on work orders and maintain accurate logs.
• Keep the working area clean, safe, and organized.
• Coordinate with other Bunge sites, safety resources, technicians and support staff.
• Interact with service providers, vendors, regulators, inspectors and contractors.
• Perform other duties as required.

A Day in the Life:

The primary role of the Maintenance Worker is to provide mechanical support services for the maintenance reliability department.

• Week 1: Monday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm & Friday 7am-3:30pm
• Week 2: Monday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm
• Hourly Rate: $33.89 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform all duties safely, display safety leadership, cultivate a zero-incident safety culture, and comply with all government and corporate safety requirements.
• Work with department managers, supervisors, contractors, and hourly employees
• Responsible for doing predictive and preventive maintenance checks as required by maintenance program.
• Responsible for recording labour and materials used on work orders completed and keeping accurate records.
• Responsible for maintaining working area in a safe, tidy condition.
• Work with peers at other Bunge sites, safety resources, technical staff, and other support personnel.
• Interact with service providers such as vendors, government regulators and inspectors, contractors, and consultants.
• Perform other duties as required.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Required qualification includes at least 3 years of referenceable industrial mechanical maintenance experience in process, food or chemical environment on equipment that we use at Harrowby, such as conveyors, pumps and fans.
• Technical school or vocational training or courses. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential as well as strong mathematical, analytical and mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing and able to work on call outs as required during off-hours, weekends, holidays and must have the acquired skills and knowledge to work alone and/or as part of a team carry out maintenance tasks encountered at the Harrowby plant and perform required repairs under tight time constraints.
• Must have excellent safety record, demonstrated good safety habits, and have shown an interest in improving plant safety conditions with suggestions and involvement.
• Must have excellent attendance record, desire to learn new skills and tasks, be adaptable, willing to accept change, and follow directions well.
• Able to operate mobile equipment such as skid steers loaders and forklifts.
• Demonstrated interest to participate in troubleshooting and maintenance, pro-active ability to reduce downtime, grasp overall plant and equipment systems quickly and show creative mechanical thinking.
• Must be a team player who adheres to Bunge core values. Accustomed to working as member of a group, integrate well with other trades people and employees.
