Are you a skilled tradesperson seeking a flexible opportunity? We're looking for a Maintenance Worker to join our team at Castlegar and District Hospital in the beautiful Kootenay region of British Columbia. Under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor (or designate), you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the facility to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Your Role

As a Maintenance Worker V, you'll perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in various areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting. You'll construct and repair items like walls, doors, floors, ceilings, and windows, using materials like drywall, wood paneling, and floor coverings. Additionally, you'll design and build furniture, cabinets, desks, tables, and shelves to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the hospital. From plastering to painting and decorating, you'll utilize your skills to contribute to minor building renovations and general maintenance tasks.

Casual Employment Opportunities

Our casual positions offer flexibility with day shift work hours ranging from zero to 37.5 hours per week. As a casual employee, you'll have the chance to apply for permanent part-time or full-time positions internally, providing pathways for career advancement within Interior Health.
