UniFirst Canada is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our team. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components, both indoor and outdoor, including large capacity washers, dryers, pneumatic and steam systems, conveyance systems, and boilers. We operate on a standard Monday - Friday work week, have an immediate opening, and provide on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilize hand/power tools and electronic testing devices.
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Perform boiler testing and maintenance.
  • Record utility readings and perform safety checks.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment parts.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to alarms and assist with repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe record.
  • Experience repairing industrial equipment (minimum 6 months).
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.
