Are you a hands-on individual with a knack for fixing things and a positive attitude? Do you enjoy servicing clients and contributing to a team's success? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team and help us keep our facilities in top-notch condition. This role is ideal for someone with some maintenance experience who is eager to learn on the job and grow with us.

How You Will Make an Impact

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring our facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing General Maintenance: Must have well-rounded handyman skills. General skills required including:

Plumbing repairs & installations

  • Repair or install electrical switches and receptacles.
  • Repair and finish drywall.
  1. Conducting Minor Repairs: Fix minor issues, ensuring all appliances and equipment are correctly installed and operational.
  2. Maintaining Safety Systems: Ensure the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms, by performing monthly fire tests and understanding fire control systems.
  3. Changing Light Bulbs: Keep our spaces well-lit by replacing light bulbs and addressing electrical issues.
  4. Inspecting and Repairing Damages: Identify and repair damages to building surfaces, including lock changes, dead bolts, and handles of commercial systems.
  5. Participating in Renovations: Take part in projects to improve our facilities.
  6. Reporting Issues: Proactively report issues to the facilities or maintenance manager for timely resolution.
  7. Adhering to Quality Standards: Follow safety and quality standards to ensure a safe environment.
  8. Snow Removal: Participate in snow removal as required.
  9. On Call Schedule: Be available for emergency calls within 30-40 minutes as part of a rotation.
  10. What You'll Bring to Our Team
  • Grade 12 or equivalent and a few years' maintenance experience.
  • Experience in plumbing repairs & installations, electrical work, drywall repair.
  • CPR / First Aid certification and WHMIS training or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Hospitable demeanor with clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid non-probationary driver’s license.
  • Previous maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
