Job description

Summary Of Position

Full-time position: Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining operational capability and efficiencies of seed processing systems by performing predictive, preventive, and immediate maintenance duties. Seasonal operation of Clipper seed cleaning equipment and the latest technology of fully automated, high-volume packaging, and palletizing equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Repair, maintain/monitor all cleaning, packaging equipment, and ancillary systems.
  • Mechanical ~75%, Electrical ~15%, Pneumatic ~10%
  • Maintain all safety support equipment, ladder ways, and catwalks.
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance activities to ensure consistent operations.
  • Assist development team with annual CapEx planning.
  • Project management.

Experience Required
  • Proficient with analytical troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical processing systems.
  • Electrical aptitude for 480V 60Hz, 24VDC, and 120V motor control systems.
  • Understanding of pneumatic actuated systems.
  • Install, cut, and thread pipe and conduit for small system modifications.
  • Capable of welding and fabrication of minor structural and carbon steel parts and supports.
  • PLC/instrumentation knowledge helpful.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Education/Licenses/Certification/Formal Training
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Three years of progressive responsibilities and/or maintenance experience.
Essential Abilities
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with operations and management in a team environment.
  • Capable of performing activities with limited supervision, planning, and executing duties independently.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, and loading up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel frequently.
  • Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods and climb stairs/ladders as needed.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Ability to work in ambient temperature conditions typical to the area throughout the year.
Work Environment
  • Work performed in an industrial manufacturing/processing environment: indoors and outdoors.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dusty conditions, uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic, and loud noise.
